Portrait of Mark Molesworth

Twenty years of bridging business and technology, now building for the cloud.

I spent 20 years as a business analyst, bridging technology and business needs in financial and regulatory environments. From managing trading data at FINRA to documenting mortgage securitization requirements at Common Securitization Solutions to leading migrations and governance at NCUA, I've always led with a curious mind and a focus on solving the problems that actually matter.

That curiosity is now pulling me toward the technical side. I'm growing into a solutions architect role, and I'm doing it the hard way: earning certifications, building real projects, and investing in the craft. I hold eight AWS certifications including Solutions Architect Professional, plus two FinOps certifications. I'm currently enrolled in the AWS Become a Solutions Architect program to build the skills to own the design, not just the requirements.

I'm always learning. I attend conferences and workshops, build side projects like this site, and dig into topics like cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, and cost optimization. The goal is real expertise, not just credentials.

My background gives me something most architects don't start with: two decades of understanding what the business actually needs. I've sat in the requirements meetings, facilitated the issue resolution calls, and translated between executives and developers. That perspective doesn't go away. It makes the architecture better.
